Blueberry Almond Maca Smoothie
Maca powder is known for its hormone balancing properties and is thought to be beneficial to overall women's health. I was using this a lot in my smoothies around the time I got pregnant (coincidence?!) Here, I add a teaspoon of the powder to my breakfast smoothie. I don't always have a smoothie for breakfast, it really just depends on what I have going on. Today, I went to a Mysore yoga class in an extremely hot studio (no A.C.), so I didn't want anything heavy in my system, but I did need something to hydrate and fuel me for the workout. That's where the almond butter and greek yogurt come in. Feel free to adjust the recipe to what you have on hand, or what your preferences are. The possibilities are endless.
7oz Unsweetened Almond Milk
1/2 Cup Frozen Wild Blueberries
1 Tbsp Maranatha Almond Butter
1 tsp Maca Powder
1 scoop Arbonne Greens
1 container Chobnai Hint of Blueberry Greek Yogurt
Blend, and enjoy!

I made it through my yoga class just fine, even though dripping in a pool of my own sweat. I felt fueled, hydrated, and ready to move. Once I got home, I ate a protein bar for muscle recovery :)
If you want more protein in your breakfast shake, add a scoop of your favorite protein.
