Shaping Up Your Fitness Routine
Fitness is a lifelong process. Creating an attainable workout regimen will keep you motivated and healthy in mind and body.
In my opinion, it is much more simple to work towards your long-term fitness goals, rather than focus on short term weight loss or muscle building. First, you need to find a workout or workouts that you actually enjoy doing. You will never reach your workout goals if you hate showing up in the first place.Try out different classes at different studios and gyms to see what works best for your interests and schedule. I encourage mixing up your classes to keep your body from adjusting to repetitive movements. Changing up the scenery keeps it interesting and fun!
If you usually take Pilates mat classes, splurge on an apparatus class every now and then. Mix in some Barre classes for cardio and sculpting.
Invest in a few private sessions on the Pilates apparatus (reformer pictured above). You will enjoy one on one attention and become accustomed to the springs and moving parts and pieces you'll need to manage in a group setting.
